Instructions for use for Nacl 0.9% plastic screw bottle, 6X1000 ml

Physiological saline solution NaCl 0.9 %

The NaCl 0.9% irrigation solution is a sterile physiological saline solution that is suitable for internal and external applications. It contains 0.9% sodium chloride and is used to clean and rinse wounds and wound dressings. The solution is also suitable for cleaning materials and offers user-friendly handling thanks to the Plastipur® plastic bottles.

Sterile saline solution for acute and chronic wounds

In Germany, around three to four million people are affected by chronic wounds. In order to heal and regenerate tissue, weeping and festering wounds require regular irrigation with an isotonic saline solution to remove inflammatory secretions. The Fresenius rinsing solution 0.9% NaCl is ideal for rinsing chronic wounds and wound dressings. The special sodium chloride concentration is tailored to the physiological conditions in the body in order to avoid osmotically caused fluid shifts. In the case of smaller acute wounds, the plasma isotonic solution can also be used to clean the wound. In addition, the sterile liquid is suitable for spraying and immersing used instruments in order to remove residues on the work equipment.

Easy to use to make wound care easier

Fresenius 0.9% NaCl is available in Plastipur® plastic bottles with a practical screw cap.The containers were specifically designed to make it easier to use the saline solution in acute cases and in home care. The break-proof plastic bottle is equipped with user-friendly grip recesses. The container's high transparency ensures good visual inspection, making it easy to see how much rinsing solution is still contained. Thanks to the color-coded caps, confusion with other flushing solutions is avoided.

Application recommendation

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the dosage for internal and external applications depends on the requirements of the procedure. In order to avoid contamination of the NaCl 0.9% rinsing solution with potential pathogens and harmful substances, medical protective gloves should always be worn when treating wounds and should not touch the bottle opening. The rinsing solution must not be heated above 40°C.The contents must be used immediately after opening and any leftovers must be discarded.

Fresenius NaCl 0.9% is not intended for injection or infusion.

Cleaning acute wounds

In the case of contaminated acute wounds, prompt, careful cleaning is recommended as part of initial care. The sterile saline solution 0.9% NaCl can be used to gently remove small foreign bodies and potential pathogens. This prevents lengthy inflammation of the injured tissue and supports the healing process.

Irrigation of chronic wounds

An important part of wound management is regular irrigation of deep or difficult-to-reach wounds.Even large abscesses and fistulas require consistent care.Daily rinsing removes accumulations of purulent secretion and dead tissue, thus enabling long-term wound healing.

Frequently asked questions & Answers

In which bottle sizes is the 0.9% NaCl rinsing solution available?

The Fresenius rinsing solution with 0.9% sodium chloride is available in two bottle or packaging sizes: 12 x 0.5 liters or 6 x 1 liter in the user-friendly Plastipur® plastic screw bottle.Which bottle size is suitable depends on your individual needs.Since the sterility of the product is only guaranteed until the container is opened, the contents must be completely used up in one use.Any unused solution residue must be disposed of.

How long does Fresenius 0.9% NaCl last?

The 0.9% NaCl rinsing solution should no longer be used after the expiry date printed on the label has expired.Use the isotonic saline solution only if the bottle is undamaged and the solution is clear and free of particles. Before use, carefully visually inspect the container and, due to possible contamination, pay attention to minimal damage to the closure, which may have occurred during transport, for example. No special storage conditions are required. However, always keep the saline solution out of the reach of children.

Is the 0.9% NaCl saline solution also suitable for cleaning larger wounds?

The use of Ringer Fresenius rinsing solution is recommended for treating large wounds.Since it contains other electrolytes in addition to sodium chloride, it counteracts possible electrolyte shifts. The Ringer Fresenius solution is also available in the practical Plastipur® plastic bottle.
