Directions for use of the article Paidoflor Chewable Tablets: Paidoflor 20 mg Chewable Tablets contain the active substance Lactobacillus acidophilus dry powder. The medicine is traditionally used to support intestinal function in cases of constipation and diarrhoea. It is available as a chewable tablet and is taken with meals. The dosage depends on the age: adults take 3 chewable tablets 1-3 times a day, schoolchildren take 3 chewable tablets 1-2 times a day and toddlers take 1 chewable tablet 1-3 times a day. The chewable tablet can either be chewed or, for toddlers, crushed in warm milk or lukewarm porridge. The duration of treatment depends on the symptoms and is at least 6 weeks for acute intestinal complaints until the symptoms improve and at least 6 weeks for chronic functional disorders. The medicinal product should be stored in a cool place and should not be used after the expiry date. There are no known side effects. Caution is advised in case of intolerance to galactose, glucose or lactose. The medicinal product is available without a prescription.
