Instructions for use of the article Atrauman Compresses sterile 5 cm x 5 cm Atrauman Compresses sterile 5 cm x 5 cm are sterile, active substance-free ointment compresses for single use for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of any kind. The dressing serves as a non-adherent wound contact layer and prevents the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed. It keeps the wound edges and the surrounding skin supple. Atrauman is particularly well suited for dermatological applications and can also be used in patients with sensitive skin and sensitivity to certain drugs. Application: The compress is removed from the peel pack and cut to the wound size with sterile scissors if required. One side of the product protective pad is removed and placed on the wound, then the remaining protective pad is removed. A sterile absorbent dressing pad is placed over the Atrauman ointment dressing to absorb the wound exudate. Unless otherwise prescribed, Atrauman should be renewed at each dressing change. The duration of wear depends on the wound healing and the amount of exudate. Notice: If the dressing is left on the wound for a prolonged period for therapeutic reasons, ointment mass absorption may occur.
