Summary: Atrauman Compresses sterile 7.5 cm x 10 cm are sterile, active ingredient-free ointment dressings for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds. The dressing acts as a non-adherent wound contact layer and prevents the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed. It helps to keep the wound edges and the surrounding skin supple. Atrauman is particularly suitable for dermatological applications and for sensitive skin as well as for patients who are sensitive to certain drugs. It is applied by removing the compresses from the pack and placing them on the wound. To absorb wound exudate, an absorbent wound dressing should be fixed over the Atrauman ointment dressing. The dressing should be renewed at each dressing change. The duration of wear depends on the condition of the wound and the amount of wound exudate. It should be noted that prolonged exposure may result in resorption of the ointment mass.
