Directions for use of the article Zinc Ointment Dentinox: - The medicinal product contains the active substance zinc oxide and is used to support wound healing. - It is also used for weeping or itching wounds and chapped skin. - The ointment adheres well, is skin-compatible and almost invisible after being rubbed in. - The medicinal product must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients. - It is applied once to several times a day to the affected areas of the skin and covered with gauze if necessary. - When applied to the genital and anal areas, the safety of condoms may be impaired. - Pregnant and breastfeeding women may use the medicinal product, but should avoid large-scale application. - The medicine is available without a prescription and can be used without special precautions. - A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if there are any questions about its use or if side effects occur. - The medicinal product is manufactured by Dentinox and can be purchased in packs of 45 g or 10 g ointment. I bought this ointment mainly for the redness on our little one's bottom. Apply it when it is already slightly reddened, but definitely not yet severe nappy rash, then you should go to the KIA. The ointment is quite thick and odourless. It forms a film after application and is not really absorbed. This protects the skin from further irritation and moisture. I have heard that zinc ointments can theoretically also be applied to other parts of the body that are slightly sore or reddened, but I have not yet used the ointment for other purposes.
