UrgoTül Ag Lite Border is a self-adhesive lipid colloid wound dressing soaked in silver salt.It is based on lipid colloid technology (TLC), an innovation from Laboratoires URGO.The wound dressing consists of three layers: an TLC-Ag wound healing matrix that comes into direct contact with the wound, a thin and absorbent compress in the middle and a white, protective polyurethane backing layer with a highly compatible adhesive.

In contact with the wound exudates, the hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethylcellulose) gel and combine with the matrix to form a lipidocolloid film.This leads to several specific properties: maintenance of a moist wound environment, gel formation in contact with the wound, painless dressing changes, protection of the wound environment, flexibility and adaptability of the carrier material and optimal drainage of weakly exuding wounds.The antibacterial effectiveness of the wound dressing has been demonstrated in vitro for up to 7 days and contributes to odor reduction.The silver ions in the TLC-Ag wound healing matrix reduce local bacterial colonization and are characterized by a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, including gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria as well as certain fungi and yeasts.

Areas of application

UrgoTül Ag Lite Border is indicated for the local treatment of slightly exuding wounds with the risk or signs of local infection.These include chronic wounds such as pressure sores and leg ulcers, as well as acute wounds such as second-degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds and surgical wounds.The wound dressing is suitable for wounds with a healthy wound environment.

Contraindications

UrgoTül Ag Lite Border should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to silver and other components of the wound dressing.In addition, the product must not be used on patients who are being examined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Instructions for use

The wound should be cleaned according to usual care protocol.If an antiseptic was previously used, the wound should be thoroughly rinsed with sterile physiological saline solution before using UrgoTül Ag Lite Border.The protective films of the wound dressing should be removed and the wound dressing applied directly to the wound, with the compress in the middle positioned directly on the wound.UrgoTül Ag Lite Border should be changed every 1 to 3 days, depending on the wound being treated and its healing process.The maximum duration of treatment is one month.
