UrgoTül is a product of lipid colloid technology (TLC) developed by Laboratoires URGO .It is a non-occlusive, flexible and adaptable lipid colloid gauze wound dressing.This consists of a network of polyester fibers that are soaked with hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethyl cellulose), paraffin, petroleum jelly and polymers.

In contact with the wound exudate, the hydrocolloid particles gel and, together with the petroleum jelly component of the UrgoTül, form a lipicolloid boundary layer.This creates favorable conditions for the healing process in a moist environment.Due to its chemical composition, UrgoTül does not stick to the wound and wound edges, which enables painless and atraumatic dressing changes.

Painless dressing changes for the patient.

Indications

UrgoTül is used to treat acute wounds such as burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds and postoperative wounds, as well as chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers in the granulation and epithelialization phase.It can also be used for wounds resulting from the hereditary disease epidermolysis bullosa.

Due to its flexibility and very good adaptability, UrgoTül is particularly suitable for covering fissured wounds or wounds in difficult locations as well as for packing deep wounds.

Application instructions

The wound should be cleaned according to usual care protocol.If an antiseptic was previously used, it is advisable to rinse the wound carefully with physiological saline solution before using UrgoTül.Peel off the protective film from UrgoTül and place it directly on the wound.UrgoTül can be cut with a sterile instrument to adjust the size of the dressing to the wound and the wound environment.

UrgoTül should be covered with a secondary dressing adapted to the exudate volume and secured with a stretchy bandage, a stretchy adhesive plaster or an elastic tubular bandage.The dressing is changed every 2 to 4 days, depending on the wound being treated and the clinical condition of the wound.UrgoTül can be left on the wound for up to 7 days, with multiple layers of compression for venous leg ulcers.When treating wounds as a result of the hereditary disease Epidermolysis Bullosa, the wound dressing should be changed every one to three days.

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to the wound dressing.
