UrgoTül 10x40 cm wound gauze is a lipidocolloid technology (TLC) product and consists of a mesh of polyester fibres impregnated with hydrocolloid particles, paraffin, petrolatum and polymers. It forms a lipidocolloid boundary layer that gels in contact with the wound exudate and creates a favourable moist environment for the healing process. UrgoTül wound gauze is non-adherent to the wound and wound edges, allowing painless and atraumatic dressing changes for the patient. It can be used for acute and chronic wounds, such as burns, skin abrasions, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers, as well as for wounds resulting from the hereditary disease epidermolysis bullosa. Due to its flexibility and adaptability, the wound gauze is particularly suitable for fissured and difficult-to-access wounds. UrgoTül is applied after cleansing the wound according to the usual care protocol. The protective film is removed and the wound gauze is applied directly to the wound. If necessary, it can be cut to size. It is then covered with a secondary dressing and fixed in place. The dressing should be changed every 2 to 4 days and can be left in place for up to 7 days in venous leg ulcers.
