Mirfulan is a wound and healing ointment that is used for the covering, protective and secretion-binding treatment of non-infected acute and subacute skin damage.This skin damage can be accompanied by redness, itching and pain, such as diaper rash.The active ingredient zinc oxide has a covering, protective effect and binds secretions.No prescription is required for this product.

How to use Mirfulan?

Always use Mirfulan exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Depending on your needs, apply the ointment about 1/2 to 1 millimeter thick to the areas of skin to be treated once or several times a day.If the condition of the wound allows, ointment residues can be carefully removed with warm soapy water.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.

What Mirfulan contains

The active ingredient is zinc oxide.100 g of ointment contains 10 g of zinc oxide.The other ingredients are urea, cod liver oil (standardized to 10,000 IE Vit. A and 2,000 IE Vit. D3 per g cod liver oil), witch hazel bark distillate with ethanol/ethanol water, white petroleum jelly, wool wax alcohol ointment, thin paraffin, glycerol monostearate 40-55,2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol-L(+)-6-0-palmitoyl ascorbic acid-citric acid-1H20-glycerol monostearate-propylene glycol (10:5:2.5:5:27.5) (W/W) and purified water.

How to store Mirfulan?

Keep Mirfulan out of the reach of children and do not store it above 25°C.After opening the tube, the ointment has a shelf life of 12 months.Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.

Mode of action

Zinc oxide acts on the skin against pathogens and inflammation and promotes wound healing.It binds moisture to the skin, which reduces further softening and penetration of pathogens.Urea supplies the skin with moisture, makes it more supple and allows other active ingredients to penetrate deeper layers of the skin.

Contraindications

Mirfulan must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients or have skin infections.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist for individual advice.

Side effects

Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for Mirfulan.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to ascorbic acid (vitamin C).Antioxidants such as butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydroxytoluene can cause skin irritation.Emulsifiers such as cetyl/stearyl alcohol and solvents such as propylene glycol can also cause skin irritation.Wool wax alcohols can cause skin irritation.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Therefore, give any new doctor or pharmacist information about all the medicines you are already using.
