UrgoTül Foam Border is a self-adhesive lipid colloid foam wound dressing with microadhesive TLC-matrix.This innovative technology, developed by Laboratoires Urgo, ensures effective exudate management and prevents maceration.The wound dressing is also suitable for use under a compression bandage if prescribed.

Composition

The wound dressing consists of a microadhesive TLC-matrix in combination with an absorbent polyurethane foam compress and a superabsorbent fleece.It also has a vapor-permeable but water-impermeable outer carrier with a silicone adhesive edge.This specific combination is patent protected.

UrgoTül Foam Border combines the advantages of TLC and silicone adhesive edges.The TLC-technology (lipidocolloid technology) consists of a unique combination of polymers and hydrocolloid particles that form a gel upon contact with the wound exudate and create a moist environment.This promotes wound healing and allows the cells involved in the repair process to develop their effect.The effectiveness of TLC has been demonstrated in several clinical studies involving over 36,000 patients.

UrgoTül Foam Border's waterproof backing is soft, highly conformable and non-occlusive.It ensures that the wound dressing adapts well to the anatomical relief of the wound, prevents fluids from escaping and protects the wound from external bacterial contamination.Its high vapor permeability ensures the drainage of excess exudate and prevents maceration.The silicone adhesive edge ensures good adhesion, easy repositioning and high skin compatibility.Thanks to its transparency, it is possible to monitor the passage of liquids and change the dressing only when necessary.

Indications

UrgoTül Foam Border is used to treat exuding acute wounds such as 2nd degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds and post-operative wounds.It is also suitable for the treatment of chronic wounds such as arterial and venous ulcers, pressure sores and diabetic foot ulcers.The sacral version (UrgoTül Foam Border Sacrum) is recommended for exuding chronic wounds in the sacral area (sacral decubitus).

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to the dressing material.

Instructions for use

Before use, the wound should be cleaned according to the applicable care protocol.If an antiseptic was previously used, carefully rinse the wound with sterile physiological saline and dry the surrounding skin before applying UrgoTül Foam Border.To apply the wound dressing, remove the protective film, place the microadhesive side on the wound and smooth the dressing.Apply a compression bandage over the wound dressing if one has been prescribed.The wound dressing should be changed every 2 to 4 days and may be left on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the amount of exudate and the clinical condition of the wound.
