Area of application

Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel is a product suitable for treating various types of wounds.It can be used for acute wounds such as uninfected transplant wounds, abrasions and blisters caused, for example, by CO2 laser treatments, skin diseases such as acne, atopic dermatitis, impetigo contagiosa and rosacea, burns or punch biopsies.It is also suitable for chronic wounds, including venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and leg ulcers.

Mode of action

Betaisodona Advanced wound and healing gel promotes the regeneration of the skin and thus accelerates the healing process.The product consists of a hydrogel with liposomes and 3% povidone-iodine.The liposomes contained in the gel have cell components that have similar properties to skin cells.These can repair damaged cell membranes at the base of the wound.The hydrogel base, composed of carbomer, serves as a carrier for the liposomes and creates a moist environment necessary for optimal wound healing.This moist environment aids in wound cleansing by removing dead tissue.In addition, the gel improves the quality of wound healing in terms of flexibility, elasticity and appearance of the skin.

The ingredients of Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel include carbomer, hydrogenated (3-sn-phosphatidyl)choline (soy), sodium hydroxide, citric acid, disodium hydrogen phosphate, potassium iodate, povidone iodine and purified water.

Contraindications

Betaisodona Advanced wound and healing gel should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage

The gel can be applied evenly, approximately 2 mm thick, to the damaged area once or several times a day, or every time you change the wound dressing.If necessary, a wound dressing such as paraffin gauze can be applied.

Intake

Betaisodona Advanced wound and healing gel is only intended for external use.It should be avoided that the gel comes into contact with mucous membranes or eyes.The product must not be heated before use.If it is accidentally heated, it must be discarded.First, the wound should be cleaned.The gel can then be applied directly to the wound or to the wound dressing, approximately 2 mm thick.If necessary, the edges of the wound can be protected with an oily ointment.Finally, the wound should be covered with paraffin gauze and a wound dressing.It is important to ensure that no silver-coated supports are used.No prescription is required for this product.

Patient information

Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel should not be used on infected wounds unless recommended by a doctor.The product should be used with caution in patients with thyroid disease or renal insufficiency and should be used under medical supervision.If the gel is accidentally swallowed, a doctor should be consulted immediately.During prolonged use on large areas of skin, thyroid function should be monitored.The gel may reduce the uptake of iodine in the thyroid, which may interfere with certain tests and exams.If skin irritation or hypersensitivity occurs, use should be discontinued.If the gel gets into your eyes, you should immediately rinse them thoroughly with water and then consult a doctor.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in newborns and infants up to 6 months of age, Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel should only be used with caution and on the express instructions of a doctor.If the duration of use is longer than 2 weeks, the thyroid function of the newborn or infant must be monitored.
