Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray

Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray is an anti-allergic drug that is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis).It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.The nasal spray has a targeted effect on the nasal mucosa and helps to reduce excessive runny nose, sneezing and swelling.The active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride blocks the effects of histamine and other inflammatory substances that are released when an allergy occurs.Symptoms can be alleviated after just 15 minutes.Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray contains 1.5 mg/ml, 50% more active ingredient than Allergodil® acute and is used once daily.

Area of application

Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) in adults and children aged 6 years and over.It is well tolerated and can also be used for long-term treatment.

Mode of action

The active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride in Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray blocks the effects of histamine and other inflammatory substances that are increasingly released in the event of an allergy.This prevents excessive nasal secretion, painful sneezing and swelling of the nasal mucosa.Since the spray acts directly on the nasal mucosa, allergic symptoms are quickly and effectively reduced.

Each spray (0.14 ml) of Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray contains 0.21 mg azelastine hydrochloride, equivalent to 0.19 mg azelastine.The other ingredients are hypromellose, sucralose (E955), sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing), sodium edetate, sodium citrate and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray should not be used.

Dosage

For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, the recommended dose is two sprays per nostril once daily.In some cases, two sprays per nostril twice daily may be necessary.The highest daily dose is two sprays per nostril twice daily.For children aged 6 to 11 years, the recommended dose is one spray per nostril twice daily.Use for more than 4 weeks is not recommended at this age.

Patient information

If you feel a bitter taste in your mouth after using Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray, you can counteract this with a non-alcoholic drink.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only use medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Notes

Keep Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray out of the reach of children.Do not use for longer than 6 months after opening.Do not store Allergodil® acute FORTE nasal spray below +8 °C.No prescription is required for this product.
