Allergodil® acute nasal spray is an anti-allergic drug that is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis).It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.The active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride works after just 15 minutes and is well tolerated, making the spray also suitable for long-term treatment.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Allergodil® acute nasal spray contains the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride, an antihistamine.Antihistamines prevent the effects of histamines, which are released during an allergic reaction.This alleviates typical complaints such as sneezing, an itchy and stuffy nose.Antihistamines also have anti-inflammatory properties because they stabilize inflammatory cells and prevent histamine from entering the nose.

The active ingredient in Allergodil® acute nasal spray is azelastine hydrochloride.One 0.14 ml spray contains 0.14 mg azelastine hydrochloride.The other ingredients are sodium edetate, hypromellose, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, citric acid, sodium chloride and purified water.

Area of application

Allergodil® acute nasal spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 and over.It inhibits excessive runny nose, sneezing and swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Dosage

The recommended dose is one spray per nostril twice daily (morning and evening).When using for the first time, pump several times until an even spray mist emerges.The application should be carried out with the head in an upright position.If possible, treatment should be carried out regularly until symptoms are eliminated.

Intake

Allergodil® acute nasal spray is used as a nasal spray.If you feel a bitter taste in your mouth after use, you can counteract this with a non-alcoholic drink.

Patient information

Keep Allergodil® acute nasal spray out of the reach of children.Do not use for longer than 6 months after opening.Do not store the nasal spray below +8 °C.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only use medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.
