Octenisept solution for supportive wound treatment
The alcohol-free Octenisept solution with a practical spray head enables painless wound disinfection and supports wound healing by effectively reducing the risk of infection.A particular advantage is its good tolerability, which allows it to be used in premature babies and infants. The antiseptic wound solution is therefore suitable for painless disinfection of various wounds.
Applicable to a variety of injuries
The Octenisept solution can be used for different types of injuries and wounds.Due to its antiseptic spectrum of action, it is suitable for disinfecting cuts and abrasions as well as other acute and chronic wounds. In addition, the solution can be used for disinfection before diagnostic and surgical procedures and supports the treatment of athlete's foot.
Use Octenisept solution to protect against wound infections
Thorough disinfection of wounds and superficial skin injuries is essential to prevent wound infections. The Octenisept solution offers a simple and easy-to-dose application thanks to its practical bottle with spray head.It enables uncomplicated wound disinfection with a significantly reduced risk of infection and reliably promotes wound healing.
Painless use of Octenisept even on open wounds
The alcohol-free recipe of the Octenisept solution enables painless wound disinfection, which has various advantages. This includes wound care in premature babies and infants, disinfection of open wounds, use in anxious children and wound care in people sensitive to pain.To use it, you should cover the wound to be disinfected evenly and completely with the solution and allow it to take effect for at least a minute. If necessary, you can then cover the disinfected wound with a plaster or wound dressing.
The Octenisept solution is suitable for the painless disinfection of superficial injuries and wounds, which promotes wound healing and reduces the risk of infection.Another advantage is the easy application using the spray head. The well-tolerated solution has also proven effective for treating wounds in premature babies and infants.
Area of application
Octenisept solution is an antiseptic for wound disinfection and supportive wound treatment. It effectively protects against infections of acute and chronic wounds as well as burn wounds on the skin and mucous membranes.Octenisept solution is also suitable for treating skin and mucous membrane surfaces before diagnostic and surgical procedures. The use of the alcohol-free solution is usually painless and therefore ideal for infants and premature babies.Octenisept solution is colorless.
Mode of action
Octenisept solution has a broad spectrum of effectiveness. The onset of action is quick and long-lasting.The antiseptic ingredient octenidine interacts with structures in the shell of the microorganisms and causes lasting damage to them.Phenoxyethanol additionally complements the bactericidal properties of octenidine. This reliably eliminates bacteria, fungi and certain viruses on the skin and mucous membranes.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
100 g of Octenisept solution contains octenidine hydrochloride 0.1 g and phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.) 2.0 g as active ingredients. The solution contains (3-coco fatty acid amidopropyl) dimethylazaniumyl acetate, sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and purified water as other ingredients.
Contraindications
If you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, this product should not be used. The use of the solution as a rinse in the abdominal cavity, the urinary bladder and the eardrum is also contraindicated.
Dosage
Octenisept solution is applied to the area to be disinfected.Make sure that it is completely and evenly covered and allow the product to take effect for at least a minute.Do not rinse with water! Please note further information in the package insert!
Intake
The preparation is intended exclusively for superficial use.Thoroughly clean the affected area by carefully wiping it one at a time with at least two swabs soaked in the medicine.Make sure the wound is completely moistened. Before further measures, such as applying a wound dressing, an exposure time of at least 1 to 2 minutes must be allowed. The oral cavity can be rinsed if complete treatment is required. In this case, 20 ml of the solution should be applied for 20 seconds. To support the treatment of fungal infections of the skin between the toes, the medicine should be sprayed onto the affected areas in the morning and evening.Consistent adherence to these application instructions is essential to achieve the desired effect.
Patient information
Do not swallow the medicine in large quantities or allow it to enter the bloodstream! In order to prevent possible tissue damage, the preparation must not be introduced into the tissue under pressure. For wound cavities, drainage must be guaranteed at all times (e.g. drainage, tab).
Pregnancy
Pregnancy: Current experience with pregnant women does not indicate any risk.Breast-feeding: There are no sufficient animal experimental and clinical data on use during breast-feeding.Since octenidine dihydrochloride is not absorbed or only absorbed in very small amounts, it can be assumed that it does not pass into breast milk.Phenoxyethanol is quickly and practically completely absorbed and excreted almost quantitatively as an oxidation product via the kidneys.Accumulation in breast milk is therefore unlikely.
Notes
Do not use Octenisept solution together with PVP-iodine.No prescription is required for this product.
octenisept® wound disinfection - for minor injuries
Scratches, abrasions or cuts as well as small skin injuries are not uncommon in everyday life. You can quickly and easily be provided with a wound disinfectant to prevent inflammation or infection caused by pathogens.Octenisept wound spray is a modern, very effective and well-tolerated antiseptic for painless wound care. The unique combination of octenidine and phenoxyethanol provides a quick and broad antiseptic effect.

Disinfect wounds with octenisept® - this is how you proceed
Before disinfecting cuts or abrasions or other skin injuries with octenisept®, the affected areas should first be thoroughly cleaned.Afterwards, apply a wound disinfectant as soon as possible to avoid giving pathogens or bacteria a chance to cause an infection. Please note that octenisept® should not be mixed with other preparations. The simultaneous use of e.g.B. povidone-iodine and octenidine contained in BETAISODONA® can lead to a dark discoloration of the skin at the application site.A simultaneous use of both preparations to prevent infection of wounds is therefore not recommended.
Use of octenisept® in children, infants and premature babies
Octenisept® wound disinfection can cause skin damage. Its use in newborns and especially premature babies should therefore be carried out with caution.
Exposure time of octenisept®
Octenisept® is effective after just 30 seconds against bacteria, against hospital germs MRSA and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and has a limited virucidal effect. The exposure time against Candida albicans (yeast), however, is two minutes. Before applying a wound dressing, please wait for a minimum of one to two minutes.
