Instructions for use for OCTENISEPT Wound disinfection solution, 100 ml
Area of application
Octenisept wound disinfection is an antiseptic that is used for repeated, time-limited supportive antiseptic wound treatment. It is a colorless and very well tolerated spray for disinfecting and cleaning cuts, scratches and abrasions as well as open blisters. It is easy to use and works quickly. No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Octenisept wound disinfection contains the following active ingredients: 0.1g octenidine dihydrochloride and 2.0g phenoxyethanol (Ph.Eur.).The other ingredients are 2-[(3-Kokosfettsäureamidopropyl)dimethylazaniumyl]acetate, sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and purified water.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.
Dosage
Carefully spray the area to be treated with Octenisept wound disinfection. The wound must be completely wetted. The minimum exposure time is one to two minutes.Wait for this period before taking further measures, such as applying a wound dressing. In order to achieve the desired effect, these specifications must be carefully adhered to.Since there is only experience with continuous use of around 14 days so far, the medicine should not be used for longer than two weeks without medical supervision.
Intake
The preparation is intended for superficial use and must not be injected into the depths of the tissue using a syringe.Carefully rub the area to be treated one after the other with at least two medicine-soaked swabs. The wound must be completely wetted. Before further measures, such as applying a wound dressing, wait for the minimum exposure time of one to two minutes.Rinsing the oral cavity is possible, but should only be done if the entire oral cavity needs to be treated. Then use 20 ml over 20 seconds. To support the treatment of fungal diseases of the skin between the toes, the medicine should be sprayed onto the affected areas in the morning and evening.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.Do not swallow large quantities of the medicine or allow it to enter the bloodstream, for example by accidental injection. It should be used with caution in newborns, especially premature babies. The medicine can cause serious skin damage.Remove excess medication and ensure that the solution is not left on the skin for longer than necessary, including materials wetted with the solution and in direct contact with the patient.Use in the eyes should be avoided. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. After irrigation of deep wounds using a syringe, persistent edema, erythema and tissue necrosis were reported, some of which required surgical revision. To avoid tissue damage, the preparation must not be injected deep into the tissue using a syringe. The preparation is intended for superficial use only (application using a swab or spraying).
Pregnancy
Current experience with pregnant women does not indicate any risk. There are no sufficient animal experimental and clinical data on use during breastfeeding.Since octenidine dihydrochloride is not absorbed or only absorbed in very small amounts, it can be assumed that it does not pass into breast milk.Phenoxyethanol is quickly and practically completely absorbed and excreted almost quantitatively as an oxidation product via the kidneys.Accumulation in breast milk is therefore unlikely.
Notes
In order to prevent possible tissue damage, the preparation must not be introduced or injected into the tissue under pressure. In the case of wound cavities, drainage must be guaranteed at all times, for example through a drainage or tab.Do not swallow Octenisept Wound Disinfectant in large quantities or allow it to enter the bloodstream, for example through accidental injection.Do not mix Octenisept wound disinfection with other preparations.Do not use with PVP-iodine-based antiseptics on adjacent skin areas as severe brown to purple discoloration may occur.Bandages and incision films can be applied after Octenisept wound disinfection has completely dried. When using Octenisept wound disinfection, a temporary burning sensation can occur in rare cases as a subjectively perceived symptom.Octenisept wound disinfection can be heated up to body temperature. Octenisept wound disinfection should no longer be used after the expiry date. After opening the container, do not use Octenisept wound disinfection for longer than 3 years, but not beyond the expiry date.Keep Octenisept wound disinfectant out of the reach of children. The basic rule is: The use of all medicines within the first trimester of pregnancy should be carried out under strict indications and medical supervision. The use of Octenisept wound disinfection in the eye should be avoided. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Antiseptic wound treatment - quick and easy
Every household is familiar with everyday cuts and scrapes from time to time.Families with children tend to experience these situations more often.Even though such skin injuries are usually harmless and considered minor, they can develop into painful inflammation if pathogens such as bacteria get into the injury. To prevent this wound infection, you should have the Octenisept wound disinfection spray on hand after initially cleaning the wound. Thanks to the broadly effective combination of the two drugs octenidine and phenoxyethanol, the wound disinfection spray can eliminate pathogens in skin injuries quickly and painlessly and thus prevent inflammation.Examples of use include the disinfection and subsequent cleaning of acute scratches, cuts and abrasions, open blisters and chronic wounds.Octenisept wound disinfection spray expands the well-known and proven Octenisept product range from Schülke & Mayr GmbH.
Immediate wound disinfection without pain and tears
The Octenisept wound disinfection spray is a medication for temporary supportive antiseptic wound disinfection.Like all Schülke products, it was designed using advanced, safe and environmentally friendly processes.High quality standards were set for production. The antiseptic combination of the active ingredients octenidine and phenoxyethanol is relevant to the effect. While octenidine acts against fungi, bacteria and certain viruses, phenoxyethanol accelerates the effect and thus expands the spectrum of action.
