UrgoTül Foam Border Bandage

UrgoTül Foam Border is a self-adhesive lipid colloid foam wound dressing with microadhesive TLC-matrix.This innovative technology, developed by Laboratoires Urgo, ensures effective exudate management and prevents maceration.The bandage is also suitable for use under a compression bandage if prescribed.

The wound dressing consists of a microadhesive TLC-matrix in combination with an absorbent polyurethane foam compress and a superabsorbent fleece.It also has a vapor-permeable but water-impermeable outer carrier with a silicone adhesive edge.This specific combination is patent protected.

UrgoTül Foam Border combines the advantages of TLC and silicone adhesive edges, resulting in a moist environment, optimal wound healing results and painless, atraumatic removal.

TLC (Lipidocolloid technology)

TLC is a patented innovative technology consisting of a unique combination of polymers and hydrocolloid particles.These particles form a gel upon contact with the wound exudate and create a moist environment that promotes wound healing.The cells that are significantly involved in the repair process (fibroblasts, keratinocytes, macrophages) can develop their effect, leading to optimal wound healing results.The effectiveness of TLC has been proven in several clinical studies involving over 36,000 patients.

UrgoTül Foam Border's waterproof backing is soft, highly conformable and non-occlusive.It ensures that the wound dressing adapts well to the anatomical relief of the wound, prevents fluids from escaping and protects the wound from external bacterial contamination.Its high vapor permeability ensures the drainage of excess exudate and thus prevents maceration.It is also stretchy and adapts to the movements of the body, making it easier to wear for the patient.The silicone adhesive edge ensures that the bandage adheres well, is easy to reposition and is well tolerated by the skin.Due to the adhesive edge, fixation with a secondary dressing is not necessary.Thanks to its transparency, it is possible to monitor the passage of liquids and change the dressing only when necessary.

Indications

UrgoTül Foam Border dient der Behandlung exsudierender akuter Wunden wie Verbrennungen 2. Grades, Hautabschürfungen, traumatische Wunden und postoperative Wunden sowie chronischer Wunden wie arterielle und venöse Ulcera, Dekubitus und diabetische Fußulcera.The sacral version (UrgoTül Foam Border Sacrum) is recommended for exuding chronic wounds in the sacral area (sacral decubitus).

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to the dressing material.

Instructions for use

Preparation of the wound:

The wound should be cleaned according to applicable care protocol.If an antiseptic was previously used, thoroughly rinse the wound with sterile physiological saline solution before applying UrgoTül Foam Border.The surrounding skin should be carefully dried.

Applying the wound dressing:

Peel off the protective film and place the microadhesive side of UrgoTül Foam Border on the wound, whereby the distance between the wound and the adhesive silicone edge should be at least 1 cm.Smooth the dressing over the wound and apply a compression bandage over the wound dressing if one is prescribed.

Creating UrqoTül Foam Border Sacrum:

Position the wound dressing with the pointed end towards the sacral area.

Removing the wound dressing:

Press the healthy skin down, lift one corner of the wound dressing and carefully remove it.

Change of dressing:

The UrgoTül Foam Border wound dressing should be changed every 2 to 4 days and can be left on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the amount of exudate and the clinical condition of the wound.
