Acticoat is an antimicrobial wound dressing that uses a patented process to enable high-dose and continuous silver release.This dressing kills a wide range of germs in less than 30 minutes and creates an effective barrier against bacterial contamination for up to three days.This prevents infections and speeds up healing.Acticoat has a low-stick coating that enables atraumatic dressing changes for the patient.

Through the long-lasting release of high-dose silver, Acticoat creates an antimicrobial barrier that is effective for up to three days.This reduces the risk of germ colonization and prevents infections.In addition, fewer dressing changes are required.Acticoat's outer coating minimizes the risk of sticking to the wound, allowing for atraumatic dressing changes.

Acticoat is effective against more than 150 types of germs and kills bacteria within 30 minutes.It supports an ideally moist wound environment and reduces wound odor by reducing odor-causing bacteria.The dressing prevents the formation of biofilms, such as those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.Acticoat is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungal pathogens.It is also effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as Pseudomonas, MRSA and VRE.

Depending on the amount of exudate, Acticoat can be combined with secondary fixations such as Allevyn foam dressings or film dressings such as Opsite Flexifix.The dressing is formulated to be latex-free.

Areas of application

Acticoat is an absorbent antimicrobial protective dressing that can be used on more or less deep wounds such as decubitus ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns and transplant areas.The bandage is also suitable for infected wounds.The infection should be inspected and treated according to local protocol.
