UrgoTül Foam is an absorbent foam wound dressing equipped with a micro-adhesive TLC-matrix.This innovative technology was developed by Laboratoires Urgo and consists of a polyurethane foam compress coated with a microadhesive lipid colloid matrix.This coating makes it easier to apply, position and atraumatically remove the wound dressing.

The absorbent polyurethane foam compress ensures optimal drainage of exudates and protects the perilesional skin from maceration.The carrier material is soft, adaptable and very comfortable, ensuring good adaptation to the anatomical relief of the wound.The microadhesive wound dressing also facilitates nursing measures regarding the implementation and monitoring of the treatment.

UrgoTül Foam consists of a microadhesive TLC-matrix in contact with the wound and applied to an absorbent polyurethane foam pad.In addition, it has an elastic non-woven fabric carrier made of polyurethane.

Areas of application

The hydrocolloid particles of the microadhesive TLC-matrix take on a gel-like consistency in contact with the wound exudate and form a lipidocolloid film at the interface between the wound and the wound dressing.This achieves the following specific properties:

Maintaining a physiological environment favorable for wound healing, gel formation in contact with the wound, atraumatic removal of the wound dressing without damaging the newly formed tissue structures, painless dressing changes for the patient and protection of the perilesional skin.

Instructions for use

UrgoTül Foam can be cut with sterile scissors to adjust the size of the dressing to the wound.

Preparation of the wound

The wound should be cleaned according to usual care protocol and then irrigated with sterile physiological saline.The area surrounding the wound must be carefully dried.

Applying the wound dressing

Peel off the protective films from the microadhesive side and place the microadhesive side of UrgoTül Foam directly on the wound.Secure the wound dressing with a secondary dressing.Depending on the doctor's prescription, the wound dressing can also be used under a compression bandage.

Change of dressing

UrgoTül Foam should be changed every 2 to 4 days and can be left on the wound for up to 7 days, depending on the amount of exudate and the clinical condition of the wound.

Indications

UrgoTül Foam is suitable for the treatment of all exuding chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers, as well as acute wounds such as 2nd degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds and post-operative wounds.It is also suitable for the local acute treatment of tumor-induced wounds in conjunction with their specific therapy.

The heel shape, UrgoTül Foam Heel, is specifically designed for the treatment of exuding wounds in the heel area, including chronic wounds such as heel pressure ulcers and acute wounds such as 2nd degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds and post-operative wounds.

Since UrgoTül Foam and UrgoTül Foam Heel do not have an adhesive edge coated with an adhesive, these wound dressings are particularly suitable for the treatment of wounds with a sensitive wound environment.
