Harzol 10 mg hard capsules are a herbal urological medicine that is used for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (benign enlargement of the prostate gland) in male adults.The active ingredient phytosterol, also known as ß-sitosterol, is obtained from the South African medicinal plant Hypoxis rooperi and from the wood of pine and spruce trees.This medicine relieves the symptoms, but does not cure the enlargement of the prostate itself. Regular visits to the doctor should therefore be made, especially if there is blood in the urine or acute urinary retention.

No prescription is required for this product.

Application and dosage

The recommended dose is two capsules three times daily.The capsules should be taken unopened and unchewed with meals or immediately afterwards with plenty of liquid.It is recommended not to take the capsules while lying down.Due to the chronic nature of the disease, Harzol is intended as long-term therapy.

There are no known negative consequences from an overdose.If you forget to take a capsule, you should not take double the amount next time.If the symptoms improve, the treatment should still be completed unless the doctor advises interruption or termination.

Storage

Keep Harzol 10 mg hard capsules out of the reach and reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.Store the capsules in the original packaging, protected from light and moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.Do not dispose of medicines via wastewater, but rather take them to the pharmacy for disposal.

Ingredients

Each hard capsule contains 10 mg of phytosterol as active ingredient.The other ingredients are: anhydrous glucose, talc, lactose monohydrate, gelatin, iron (III) oxide, iron oxide hydrate x H2O, titanium dioxide and sodium dodecyl sulfate.

Contraindications

Harzol must not be taken if you are allergic to phytosterol or any of the other ingredients or have proven hypersitosterolemia.The preparation contains glucose and lactose monohydrate.
