Description of the vitamin E preparation

This medicine is a vitamin E supplement used to prevent and treat vitamin E deficiency.However, it is not suitable for cases where the absorption of vitamin E from the intestine is impaired.In such situations, parenteral preparations such as injections are a better choice.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The preparation contains 200 IE RRR-alpha-tocopherol, which corresponds to an RRR-alpha-tocopherol equivalent of 134.23 mg.In addition, it contains the excipients gelatin, glycerol, 0.001 BE carbohydrates and soybean oil.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive or allergic to RRR-alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The usual preventive dose for adults is one capsule daily, which corresponds to 134.2 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol.For treatment, adults can take one to two capsules daily, which corresponds to 134.2 to 268.4 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol.Preparations with a lower active ingredient content are available for children.

The duration of use depends on the course of the underlying disease.Please speak to your doctor about this.If you feel that the effect is too strong or too weak, also contact your doctor or pharmacist.

There are no known dangerous symptoms of an overdose.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacy.

Intake

Please take the capsule whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml).

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the medicine if you are also taking certain medicines to inhibit blood clotting.Please consult your doctor about this.Caution is also advised if there is a simultaneous vitamin K deficiency.In such cases, blood clotting must be carefully monitored, as in individual cases a severe drop in vitamin K can occur.Please consult your doctor about this.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before taking any medication, always ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.During pregnancy you should consume 13 mg of vitamin E daily. RRR-alpha-tocopherol crosses the placenta and no damage was observed in the unborn child, even at higher doses.If you are breastfeeding, you should consume 17 mg of vitamin E daily. RRR-alpha-tocopherol passes into breast milk.
