Acnefug Oxide Mild 10% is a gel for the treatment of acne. It contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide, which has both an antibacterial and a peeling effect. The gel is used for all forms of endogenous acne, especially on the chest and back. It is suitable for patients who do not respond adequately to treatment with Acnefug Oxide Mild 5%. Before use, it should be noted that the gel should not be used on mucous membranes, in the mouth-nose area or on skin abrasions. Contact with the eyes should be avoided during application as this may cause redness and burning. It is also important not to allow the gel to get on coloured textiles as it can cause bleaching. The duration of use is usually about 4 weeks. Possible side effects include skin irritation such as redness, itching, burning and tightness, which usually resolves itself after a few days. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin with redness and blistering may occur. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before use, as the gel should not be used in the last month of pregnancy. The gel should be stored in a cool place and used within one year after opening.
