Description of the drug
This medicine contains a locally effective painkiller that is used to relieve painful symptoms in the anal area.It is particularly useful for reducing pain before a proctological examination.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The main active ingredient of this drug is lidocaine at a concentration of 50 mg.Additionally, it contains various excipients such as cetyl alcohol, macrogol and purified water.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to lidocaine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
Dosage and application
Always use the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose is 2 to 3 times a day.The amount depends on the size of the skin and mucous membrane areas to be treated.The ointment should be used sparingly, and the maximum dose of 2.5 g ointment (125 mg lidocaine) per single application should not be exceeded.
The ointment may only be used without a doctor's instructions until you see a doctor, but for a maximum of 3 days.Please stick to the recommended duration of treatment, even if you feel better sooner.
When used as directed, no overdoses are known.If the ointment is accidentally ingested, no serious symptoms of poisoning are to be expected.However, symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea may occur.If very large amounts of lidocaine are taken, impaired consciousness, shock, convulsions and shortness of breath may occur.In any case, inform a doctor.If you have used the medicine more often than intended, reduce the use to the intended dosage.
Application instructions
The package includes a cannula with side outlet openings, which is used to distribute the ointment evenly and in sufficient quantities in the anal canal and adjacent rectal area.
Special Notes
The use of the drug is intended to relieve pain before a medical examination and cannot replace it.Visit your family doctor, a dermatologist or proctologist with experience in proctology as soon as possible.The medicine is not suitable for long-term use.In the case of fungal infestation, the additional use of a locally effective agent against fungal infections is necessary.
The medicine has no effect on the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Lidocaine should only be used during pregnancy if there are strict indications.It appears unlikely that the baby will be at risk if the drug is used while breastfeeding.
