Description of the product

This preparation consists of cough-suppressing lozenges, also known as antitussives.It is used to treat dry and spasmodic coughs as well as irritation and irritation of the upper respiratory tract.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient is dropropizine with a dosage of 20 mg per lozenge.In addition, the preparation contains various excipients, including alpha-tocopherol, anise oil, beta-carotene, citric oil, citric acid (anhydrous), eucalyptus oil, gelatin, glucose syrup, glucose (1.13 g), levomenthol, corn oil, corn starch, sodium chloride, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, peppermint oil, saccharin (sodium salt), sucrose (1.41g), purified water and orange peel oil.

Contraindications

The cough lozenges must not be taken if you are allergic to dropropizine or any of the other ingredients.Patients with severe heart and circulatory problems, impaired liver or kidney function and children under 12 years of age should also not use the product.Pregnant and breastfeeding women are also not allowed to take the lozenges.Caution is also advised if you are hypersensitive to essential oils such as eucalyptus oil, levomenthol, lemon oil, peppermint oil and anise oil.Patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases associated with severe airway hypersensitivity should not use the preparation due to the content of levomenthol, eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil.

Dosage

Always take the preparation exactly as described.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is 1 - 2 lozenges (20 - 40 mg dropropizine) up to 3 times a day.The daily dose must not exceed 5 lozenges (100 mg dropropizine).Adolescents aged 12 and over should not receive more than 1 - 2 mg of dropropizine per kg of body weight.Dropropizine should be dosed carefully in elderly patients.

It should not be used for longer than 14 days without consulting a doctor.Patients whose cough does not largely disappear within a week following a respiratory infection should see a doctor.If you have taken more than you should, no overdose has been reported.It can be assumed that dropropizine is tolerated without significant risks up to a total dose of 600 mg (30 lozenges).If symptoms occur, they could be fatigue from extreme overdose or seizures, which require symptomatic treatment.

If you forget to take it, take it as soon as you can.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.Do not stop treatment with the preparation without consulting your doctor, provided that it was taken on a doctor's prescription.If you have any further questions about using the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The lozenges are meant to be sucked.It makes sense to take it in the evening, as a dry cough can turn into a productive form over a short period of time.
