Area of application

Silomat DMP Intensive hard capsules are used for the symptomatic treatment of dry coughs.A dry cough is a dry cough in which no mucus is coughed up.The capsules take effect after around 15 minutes and soothe dry, irritating coughs for a longer period of around 6 hours.

Mode of action

The hard capsules contain the active ingredient dextromethorphan, which belongs to the group of antitussives (medicines that relieve cough).Dextromethorphan has an antitussive effect on the cough center of the brainstem.The high dosage of 30 mg of active ingredient per capsule ensures quick and reliable relief from dry coughs.

How should Silomat DMP Intensive be taken against a dry cough?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.Do not take more or take it for longer than recommended.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The recommended dose is: Adolescents over 12 years and adults one capsule every 6 hours, equivalent to 30 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate every 6 hours.The total daily dose should not exceed 4 capsules, equivalent to 120 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate.

Duration of application

Do not take Silomat DMP Intensive against dry cough for longer than 3-5 days without medical advice.Even if prescribed by a doctor, it should not be taken for longer than two to three weeks.

What should you do if you take more than you should?

If you take more Silomat DMP Intensive for dry cough than you should, you may experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, restlessness, confusion, sleepiness, impaired consciousness, cardiac dysfunction, coordination disorders, psychoses with visual hallucinations and hyperexcitability.Other symptoms in the event of a massive overdose may include coma, severe breathing problems and convulsions.Contact your doctor or hospital immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.

What should you do if you forget to take a dose?

Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.Continue taking according to the dosage recommendation.

How should Silomat DMP Intensive against dry cough be stored?

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the blister and carton after “Use by”.Do not store the medicine above 25°C and in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture.

Disposal
