Jonosteril® infusion solution
Jonosteril® infusion solution is a balanced electrolyte solution for infusions, which is available in the practical KabiPac® infusion bottle.In addition to sodium chloride, this solution also contains other important electrolytes such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.Acetate is contained as an anion that is rapidly metabolized to bicarbonate.The full electrolyte solution is suitable for compensating isotonic or hypotonic dehydration as well as for short-term intravascular volume replacement.Jonosteril® can also be used in cases of existing or impending acidosis.
The infusion solution can be used at any age, including newborns.An injection of compatible medication is possible.
Handling
The Jonosteril® electrolyte solution is available in the KabiPac® infusion bottle, which ensures easy and safe handling.The bottle has two separate and color-coded ports for injection and infusion.Break-off caps ensure the sterility of both ports, so disinfection is not necessary immediately after removing the caps.Internal membranes prevent accidental contamination of the ports with fingers and have good reclosure properties so that the solution cannot leak after the cannula or infusion device is removed.
The self-standing bottles made of polyethylene make it easier to prepare the infusion.The infusion port is compatible with all standard infusion devices and ensures high holding power.For classic gravity infusion, the KabiPac® infusion bottle can be attached to the infusion stand using the integrated hanging device.
Fluid replacement for dehydration
To compensate for isotonic or hypotonic dehydration, electrolyte solutions are used, which can be administered intravenously or subcutaneously.The Jonosteril® infusion solution is suitable as a complete electrolyte solution that contains the most important anions and cations in physiological concentrations.In the first step, the interstitium and the vascular space are filled when the solution is used, then the osmotic balance with the intracellular space takes place.
Electrolyte replacement for acidosis
The body reacts sensitively to disturbances in the acid-base balance.In acidosis there is usually a deficiency of bicarbonates, so substitution is indicated.Jonosteril® infusion solution contains acetate as an anion, which is rapidly metabolized in the body to bicarbonate.The balanced infusion solution is therefore suitable as a fluid and electrolyte replacement in cases of impending or existing acidosis.
