Blackberry leaves, medicinal tea
Blackberry leaves is a herbal medicine that is used for non-specific, acute diarrheal diseases as well as for mild inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat.No prescription is required for this product.The tea can be taken or used for rinsing or gargling.
Application
To make the tea infusion, two teaspoons of blackberry leaves (approx. 1.5 g) are poured over with boiling water (approx. 150 ml) and after about 10 to 15 minutes strained through a tea strainer.Unless otherwise prescribed, a cup of the tea infusion is drunk 3 times a day between meals or rinsed or gargled with a lukewarm tea infusion.
Instructions for use
This medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to blackberry leaves.In cases of diarrhea, replacement of fluids and salts (electrolytes) is the most important therapeutic measure.Tea infusions should always be prepared with boiling water.Making tea with warm water is not sufficient.
To date, there have been no indications of risks from the widespread use of blackberry leaves as medicine or in food.However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of blackberry leaves in children under 12 years of age.The use of blackberry leaves is therefore not recommended.
There are no known interactions when using this medicine with other medicines.The widespread use of blackberry leaves as medicine or in food has not yet resulted in any evidence of risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding.However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of blackberry leaves during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The use of blackberry leaves is therefore not recommended.
There is no experience with regard to impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.
Side effects and storage
There are no known side effects.Store drug out of reach of children.You may no longer use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the outer carton after “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Storage conditions: Store in the original packaging and store away from light and moisture.
