Ambix port cannulas are safety port cannula systems that have been specifically developed for port puncture.With their patented spoon cut, they enable puncture of the port membrane with minimal punching.The different variants include the Ambix Intrastick Safe with integrated adhesive for securing to the skin, the Ambix NONCORstick Safe with flexible wings and a comfortable skin support pad, and the Ambix Safe-Can, which is especially suitable for bolus injections.

The Ambix port cannulas have a safety mechanism that prevents punctures, cuts and scratches.They are suitable for high-pressure application in radiological diagnostics.In addition, the needle-free connection valve K-Zero has neutral fluid displacement, which reduces the risk of catheter occlusions.

Handling features

Activation of the safety mechanism is indicated by an acoustic and tactile signal.No clamping technology is required and the cannulas can be disinfected by wiping or spraying.The Ambix NONCORstick Safe's colored needle caps and clamps allow for faster needle size identification.

The Ambix port cannulas are compatible with a variety of enteral nutrition, infusion and intravenous therapy products.They are suitable for drinking and tube feeding as well as supplements, volume replacement, carrier and electrolyte solutions and medicines such as antibiotics, anesthetics and oncologicals.

The safety port cannula system has been specially developed for low-puncture puncture of port membranes and to protect against injuries.It has a 3-way telescopic extension safety system that is TRBA 250 compliant.The cannula locks into place irreversibly, so that if handled correctly, touching the secured cannula is impossible.The 19 and 20 G cannulas are suitable for high-pressure application.The patented spoon grind allows for low-punch grooving, and the flat handle with integrated bellows ensures a high level of comfort and strain relief.The position of the port cannula is secured by integrated adhesive, and a self-sealing safety valve and a 20 cm extension line are also included.

Application

To safely remove the Ambix Intrastick Safe, the following handling steps should be observed: First, after rinsing, the outer edge of the bellows is firmly fixed between the thumb and index finger of the non-dominant hand.Then grasp the transparent handle of the Ambix Intrastick Safe with the thumb and index finger of your dominant hand.Then the handle is quickly pulled vertically upwards while simultaneously injecting until you can hear and feel it click securely into place.Finally, the adhesive is completely removed from the skin and the Ambix Intrastick Safe is disposed of in a suitable cannula disposal container.
