Area of application

The medicine comes in the form of white, round chewable tablets and contains the substances calcium and vitamin D3, which are important for bone formation.It is used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in the elderly.It also serves as an additional treatment to support specific osteoporosis therapy.

Each chewable tablet contains 2500 mg of calcium carbonate, which is equivalent to 1000 mg of calcium.Additionally it contains 8 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate, which corresponds to 800 IE colecalciferol or 20 µg colecalciferol.The excipients included are alpha-tocopherol, 88.6 mg isomalt, magnesium stearate, modified corn starch, sodium ascorbate, povidone, 1.4 mg sucrose, highly disperse silicon dioxide, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, sucralose, medium-chain triglycerides, xylitol and lemon flavor.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medicine should also not be used if there is severe impairment of kidney function, if the calcium level in the blood or urine is too high, if there are kidney stones or if the vitamin D level in the blood is too high.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.The recommended dose is one chewable tablet daily.The tablet can be sucked or chewed.No prescription is required for this product.

If you take more than you should, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product if you are receiving long-term treatment, especially if you are also taking diuretics or cardiac glycosides.If you have impaired kidney function, a tendency to stone formation, sarcoidosis or immobilization osteoporosis, you should also consult before taking it.The medicine is not intended for use in children and adolescents.

The medicine has no known influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

If you are pregnant, you can take the medicine if you have a calcium or vitamin D deficiency.During pregnancy you should not take more than 2,500 mg of calcium and 4,000 IU of vitamin D per day, as overdoses can harm the unborn child.

The medicine can be taken during breastfeeding.Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk.This must be taken into account if the child is also given vitamin D.
