Area of application

The white, round chewable tablets contain the substances calcium and vitamin D3, which are important for bone formation.They are used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in older people.They also support specific osteoporosis therapy as an additional treatment.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each chewable tablet contains 2500 mg of calcium carbonate, which is equivalent to 1000 mg of calcium.Additionally it contains 8 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate, which corresponds to 800 IE colecalciferol or 20 µg colecalciferol.The excipients include alpha-tocopherol, 88.6 mg isomalt, magnesium stearate, modified corn starch, sodium ascorbate, povidone, 1.4 mg sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide, fatty acid mono- and diglycerides, sucralose, medium-chain triglycerides, xylitol and lemon flavor.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used if there is severe impairment of kidney function, if the calcium level in the blood or urine is too high, if there are kidney stones or if the vitamin D level in the blood is too high.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is one chewable tablet daily.The tablet can be sucked or chewed.The product is not intended for children and adolescents.In the event of an overdose, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Don't forget to make up for a dose by taking twice the amount.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking if you are receiving long-term treatment, especially if you are taking diuretics or cardiac glycosides at the same time.Caution is also advised if there is impaired kidney function, a tendency to stone formation, sarcoidosis or immobilization osteoporosis.The medicine has no known influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.During pregnancy you should not take more than 2,500 mg of calcium and 4,000 IE vitamin D per day.During breastfeeding, calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk, which should be taken into account when giving the child additional vitamin D.
