Instructions for use of the article Tegaderm 3M CHG I.V. Fixation Bandage 8,5x11,5 cm 1657r Tegaderm 3M CHG I.V. Fixation Dressing is the first antimicrobial Tegaderm IV transparent dressing. It combines the strong antimicrobial effect of chlorhexidine gluconate with the high quality of the Tegaderm dressing. The antimicrobial effect of the innovative CHGgel pad reduces skin flora, which is a common source of vascular catheter-associated bloodstream infections (CR-BSI). The efficacy was demonstrated in a study with healthy volunteers. The Tegaderm 3M CHG I.V. fixation dressing is transparent, allowing constant visual inspection of the puncture site without the need to change the fixation dressing. The CHGgel pad and Tegaderm dressing are also absorbent and absorb light secretions around the catheter entry site. The fixation dressing shows a sustained antimicrobial effect over a period of 10 days and is therefore ideal for different types of catheters such as central venous catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters, arterial catheters and port catheter systems.
