Gingium 40 mg film-coated tablets contain the active substance ginkgo biloba leaf dry extract. They are used for the symptomatic treatment of mental performance deficits caused by brain organism, such as poor memory and poor concentration. The drug can also be used for dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. It can prolong the pain-free walking distance in arterial occlusive disease in the limbs. The dosage is 1-2 tablets 3 times daily for mental performance problems or 1 1/2 - 2 tablets 2 times daily for dizziness and ringing in the ears. The tablets are to be taken independently of meals and should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. The duration of use should be at least 8 weeks. Storage should be below 30 °C. Side effects may include headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhoea. People under 18 years of age should not use the medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also not take it. Before use, possible interactions with other medicines should be noted.
