The active substance sodium chloride is found in the blood and is an electrolyte. Indications for use include the treatment of hypochloraemic alkalosis, chloride depletion, short-term intravascular volume replacement, hypotonic dehydration and isotonic dehydration. The solution must not be used if hyperhydration states are present.
