What is Posterisan protect?

Posterisan protect is an ointment with a skin protection complex that is used to relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids.After application, the skin protection complex forms a protective coat over the affected anal region, which protects pain-sensitive areas from irritation.In addition, a mechanical gliding effect makes it easier to pass stool and thus helps protect against the recurrence of symptoms.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Posterisan protect contains a skin protection complex made from jojoba wax, yellow beeswax and cetyl stearyl isononanoate.Jojoba wax, also known as jojoba oil, nourishes, protects and smoothes the skin thanks to its beneficial fatty acid composition.It forms a delicate lipid film on the skin without sealing it and increases moisture retention, improving skin elasticity in the stressed anal area.Yellow beeswax is responsible for the water-repellent effect of the skin protection complex, while cetyl stearyl isononanoate makes the skin supple.Other ingredients include benzyl alcohol, butylated hydroxytoluene, white petroleum jelly, purified water and wool wax.

Areas of application

Posterisan protect is used to relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids.It can be used as needed, especially before and after bowel movements.The amount to be used depends on the size of the skin and mucous membrane areas to be treated.The ointment can be used safely during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Application

For use on the external anal area, the ointment is applied thinly with your finger.For use in the anal canal, the package includes an applicator with side outlet openings.The applicator is screwed onto the tube and by pressing on the tube the ointment is pressed into the applicator until it emerges from the side openings.The applicator is carefully inserted into the anus and by pressing the tube again the ointment is released into the anal canal.Adequate distribution of the ointment is achieved by carefully turning the tube.

Using the anal dilator

The package includes an anal stretcher that can be used to gradually stretch the tight sphincter or to prevent sphincter spasms.To improve lubrication, the anal dilator is thinly coated with ointment and an approximately 1 cm long strand of ointment is placed on the tip.The anal dilator is carefully inserted with a twisting motion as far as is possible without pain.Normally the anal dilator should be used about twice a day for 2 minutes each time.

Instructions for use

Using Posterisan protect can cause laundry to become dirty.It is recommended to use a laundry protector.Posterisan protect can be used for up to four weeks without interruption.Regular use can help protect against recurrence of symptoms.

Contraindications and precautions

Posterisan protect should not be used at the same time as other preparations used to treat acute complaints in the anal region, as the skin protection complex could reduce the effect of these preparations.If you are hypersensitive to wool wax or another component of Posterisan protect, you should refrain from using it.Butylhydroxytoluene can cause local skin irritation and irritation of the mucous membranes.If condoms come into direct contact with Posterisan protect, the tensile strength may be impaired, meaning that the safety of condom use cannot be guaranteed.

Storage

The expiry date is printed on the folding box and tube.The ointment should not be used after this date.Once opened, the ointment can be used for a period of 6 months.Posterisan protect should not be stored above 30°C.
