Area of application

The preparation is a dermatic and keratolytic that is used to treat dry skin.It is suitable, for example, for neurodermatitis or aging skin and can also be used to support the treatment of ichthyosis.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The medicine contains 120 mg of urea per gram of ointment.In addition, the following excipients are included: alpha-tocopherol acetate, glycerol, isopropyl myristate, microcrystalline hydrocarbons, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, lactic acid, propylene glycol, an oily solution of retinol, sorbitan sesquioleate, white petroleum jelly and wheat starch.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used to treat abrasions or acute skin inflammation.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose is once or twice daily until symptoms subside.The ointment is applied to well-cleaned, dry skin and massaged in thoroughly.Airtight dressings can be used according to the doctor's instructions.

There are no clinical data for use for more than three weeks.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if the effect is too strong or too weak.No adverse effects are to be expected in the event of an overdose.Forgotten applications should not be compensated for by a double dose.Stopping treatment could jeopardize its success.

Patient information

Particular care is required to avoid the ointment coming into contact with eyes or mucous membranes.There is no reliable experience with use in children.Products containing higher concentrations of urea can cause a short-term burning sensation on the skin of children.There is no experience with regard to impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no known risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The medicine should not be used in the breast area during breastfeeding.Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.The absorption through the skin into the blood when medications are applied at the same time can be increased by urea.This is particularly known from cortisone.
