Instructions for use for Ginkobil ratiopharm 80mg with Ginkgo biloba, 60 pcs
Ginkobil® ratiopharm 80 mg film-coated tablets
Ginkobil® is a herbal medicine made from the extract of the leaves of the Ginkgo biloba tree.No prescription is required for this product.
Areas of application
Ginkobil® ratiopharm 80 mg is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept for dementia syndromes. These syndromes are manifested by a decrease or loss of acquired mental abilities, accompanied by memory impairment, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. The individual response to medication cannot be predicted. Before treatment is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms of the disease are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.
Furthermore, the medicine is used to extend the pain-free walking distance in arterial occlusive disease in the limbs, also known as “intermittent claudication” (intermittent claudication in stage II according to FONTAINE), as part of physical-therapeutic measures, in particular walking training.
Ginkobil® ratiopharm 80 mg is also used for dizziness caused by circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes (vertigo of vascular and involutive genesis) as well as for the supportive treatment of ringing in the ears as a result of circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes (tinnitus of vascular and involutive genesis).
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 80 mg of dry ginkgo leaf extract, extracted with acetone-water (35-67:1).This corresponds to 19.6 mg ginkgo flavon glycosides, 2.24-2.72 mg ginkgolide A-ginkgolide B-ginkgolide C (x:y:z), 2.08-2.56 mg bilobalide and a maximum of 0.4 µg ginkgolic acids.
The other ingredients include croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose-1-water, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, dimeticone silicon dioxide-a-hydro-ω-octadecyloxypoly(oxyethylene)-5-sorbic acid water, talc, titanium dioxide, iron (III) oxide,Iron oxides and hydroxides.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to Ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients. It should also not be used during pregnancy.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed. The usual dose for adults aged 18 and over is 1 film-coated tablet 2-3 times a day (corresponding to 80 mg of ginkgo extract 2-3 times a day) for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders, 1 film-coated tablet 2 times a day to extend pain-free walking distance in peripheral arterial disease and 1 film-coated tablet 2 times a day for dizziness and to support the treatment of ringing in the ears.
The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks for organic brain-related performance disorders, at least 6 weeks for peripheral arterial disease and at least 12 weeks for ringing in the ears.In the case of dizziness, use over a period longer than 6 to 8 weeks does not improve the treatment result.
Intake
Please take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water. It can be taken regardless of meals.Tablets should not be taken while lying down.
Patient information
You need to be particularly careful when taking this medicine if you have a pathologically increased bleeding tendency or are taking anticoagulant medicines. In this case, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor. Please inform your doctor in good time if you have taken the medicine so that he can decide how to proceed.
If you have a known seizure disorder (epilepsy), please consult your doctor before taking this medicine. The medicine is not intended for use in people under 18 years of age.
Pregnancy
Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy. It should also not be used during breastfeeding, as there are no sufficient studies and it is not known whether the ingredients of the extract pass into breast milk.
Notes
Contains lactose and less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per film-coated tablet, i.e. it is almost “sodium-free”.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
