Information for use of the medicinal product Glucosamine-ratiopharm 1500 mg Powder for oral solution: - This medicine belongs to a group of medicines called other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic medicines. - It is used to relieve symptoms of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee joint. - It contains the active ingredient glucosamine hemisulphate. - It should not be taken by people who are allergic to glucosamine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. - Caution should be exercised in persons with impaired glucose tolerance, impaired liver or kidney function and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease or asthma. - Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended. - Caution is advised when taken together with other medicinal products, especially tetracycline and anticoagulants. - The medicine should not be taken during pregnancy and use during breast-feeding is not recommended. - Possible side effects include headache, drowsiness, nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, flatulence and tiredness. - If symptoms occur, such as swelling of the face, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing, rash, itching or hives, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor. - The medicine should not be adjusted independently in case of overdose or forgetting to take it. - It should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 30°C. - The package leaflet and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before using the medicine.
