Description of the drug

This medicine is a herbal preparation used to treat hemorrhoids and other anal problems.It contains a standardized extract from the leaves of witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana L.), which is used to relieve itching, oozing and burning in the initial stages of hemorrhoidal disease and in inflammation of the mucous membranes in the anal area.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The medicine contains 400 mg witch hazel leaves fluid extract (1:2), with ethanol 60% (V/V) serving as the extractant.The following excipients are also included: alpha-tocopherol, glycerol monooleate, hard fat, microcrystalline hydrocarbons, polyglycerol poly (12-hydroxystearate) and methylated, highly disperse silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to witch hazel or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage and application

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose is two suppositories daily, morning and evening, if possible after defecation.If the symptoms are more severe, the suppositories can sometimes be used three times a day.The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease and is usually determined by the doctor.In principle, the suppositories can be used until the symptoms subside or for a few days beyond.Self-treatment without consulting a doctor should not exceed four weeks.

To use the suppositories, please tear or cut the aluminum foil from the tip in the direction of the arrow along the suppository until it can be easily removed.Insert the suppository deep into the anus.Since the use of creams, ointments and suppositories in the anal area can cause laundry to become dirty, we recommend an anal pad to protect your laundry.

Patient information

You should consult a doctor in the following cases: If symptoms begin acutely, if there is no improvement within seven days, if hemorrhoidal disease is advanced and if there are other palpable external changes.In particular, blood in the stool or bleeding from the rectum area generally requires clarification by a doctor.In the case of fungal infestation, the additional use of a locally effective agent against fungal infections is necessary.

During treatment with the drug, due to the excipient microcrystalline hydrocarbons, when latex condoms are used at the same time, the tear resistance may be reduced and the safety of such condoms may be impaired.There are no sufficient studies on the use of the drug in children under 12 years of age.No effects on the ability to drive a motor vehicle and/or operate machines are expected.Keep medicines out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There is no experience with the use of this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Due to the tannin content, it should only be used after consulting a doctor.The duration of treatment should be a maximum of two weeks.

In the case of fungal infestation, the additional application of a locally effective fungal agent is necessary.
