Instructions for use of the article Tegaderm Alginate FK Compresses 10x10 cm 90112 Tegaderm Alginate FK dressings are sterile calcium alginate fibres which are used as a primary wound dressing for heavily oozing, congested or deep ulcers. The alginate forms a gelatinous layer together with the wound exudate, traps germs and cell debris and promotes autolytic wound cleansing. The dressings are soft and drapeable, have high absorbency and structural strength and do not stick to the wound. They can be used as a wound filler or primary dressing for ideal moist wound treatment, absorption and support of autolytic debridement in all moderately to heavily exuding wounds, but not on tendons, ligaments and bones. Application is by placing the dressing on the wound surface or inserting it into deep wounds. The dressing can be removed if necessary or after 7 days at the latest. It is important to note that appropriate fibre residues may be flushed from the wound or absorbed by the body. The dimensions of the dressings are 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).
