Instructions for use of the article Tegaderm Film 20x30cm The Tegaderm Film transparent dressing from 3M is a sterile dressing that is breathable and waterproof. It has been used successfully for 25 years. The dressing offers good water vapour permeability and protects against germs and liquids. The transparency of the polyurethane film allows the wound to be continuously observed without disturbing the dressing. The Tegaderm film is available in different sizes and is therefore suitable for the secure covering and fixation of wounds. Tegaderm Film can be used as a secondary dressing in ideal moist wound healing, as a primary dressing for dry superficial wounds such as leg ulcers, decubital ulcers, 1st and 2nd degree burns, abrasions and lacerations, catheter puncture sites and for fixation of drains and probes. In addition, it can serve as a protective cover for vulnerable skin. To apply the dressing correctly, the skin should be dry and free of grease. The backing paper is removed and the dressing is positioned over the wound. The dressing is then applied from the centre outwards and pressed firmly for 15 seconds. Finally, the application frame is removed and the dressing is smoothed. The Tegaderm Film transparent dressing is a proven solution for wound care that allows continuous observation of the wound without changing the dressing.
