Information for use of the article NEMACYNAR NESTMANN TROPEN: NEMACYNAR is a herbal medicinal product used for digestive disorders, in particular for functional disorders of the bile ducts. It contains a thick extract of artichoke leaves as the active ingredient. It is recommended that adolescents from 12 years of age and adults take 40 drops three times a day before meals. The total dose should not be exceeded. The medicine is dissolved in water or tea and taken. The duration of use is in principle not limited, but should be checked by a doctor if symptoms persist or recur regularly. NEMACYNAR must not be used by people who are hypersensitive to artichokes and other composite plants or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product, or in cases of obstruction of the bile ducts. In the case of gallstone disease, a doctor should be consulted before use. During pregnancy and lactation, NEMACYNAR should not be used. There are no adequate studies on the use in children under 12 years of age. Possible side effects are very rare and include mild diarrhoea with abdominal cramps, upper abdominal discomfort, nausea, heartburn as well as skin rashes in case of hypersensitivity reactions. If side effects occur, a doctor should be consulted. NEMACYNAR contains 29.7% alcohol by volume and should therefore be avoided by alcoholics. Before using NEMACYNAR , possible interactions with other medicines should be noted, especially with coumarin-type anticoagulants. The medicinal product should be stored away from heat.
