Aciclovir Heumann cream is used for the soothing treatment of pain and itching and to accelerate the formation of crusts in recurrent cold sores. The cream contains the active ingredient aciclovir and inhibits the growth of certain viruses. It is applied to the affected skin areas five times a day at intervals of four hours. Children, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. Possible side effects include skin irritation such as burning, itching, redness and drying.
