Tebonin® special 80 mg is a herbal medicine that is used to treat symptoms of organically brain-related loss of mental performance as part of an overall therapeutic concept in the event of a decline in acquired mental abilities (dementia syndrome).The main complaints that can be treated with it are memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depression, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.No prescription is required for this product.

Tebonin® special 80 mg is a herbal medicine.In a complex, patented manufacturing process, the special ginkgo extract EGb 761® (80 mg in a film-coated tablet) is obtained from the leaves of the ginkgo tree in consistently high quality.Tebonin® special 80 mg improves the energy supply in the nerve cells of the brain.

Active ingredients of Tebonin® special 80 mg: 1 film-coated tablet contains 80 mg ginkgo leaf dry extract, (35-67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m) (equivalent to 19.2 mg ginkgo flavonoid glycosides).

Other ingredients of Tebonin® special 80 mg: cellulose microcrystalline, croscarmellose-Na, iron(III)hydroxide, hypromellose, lactose 1-water, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, silicon dioxide highly disperse, simeticon-alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly (oxyethylene)-5-(E,E)Hexa-2,4-dienoic acid water, talc, titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

The product should not be taken if you are hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, during pregnancy or breastfeeding and in children under 12 years of age.The product should only be used in consultation with a doctor if you have an increased tendency to bleed and are simultaneously taking anticoagulant medications, before operations (discontinue as a precaution) and if you have a known seizure disorder (epilepsy).

Dosage

The recommended dosage is 1 film-coated tablet 2-3 times daily.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are swallowed whole with a little liquid.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Patient information

The duration of treatment for organic brain performance disorders depends on the severity of the clinical picture and should be at least 8 weeks for this chronic disease.After a treatment period of 3 months, it must be checked whether continued treatment is still justified.The improvement in walking distance performance in peripheral arterial disease requires a treatment period of at least 6 weeks.In the case of dizziness and ringing in the ears, no further improvement in symptoms can usually be expected after a treatment period of 6-8 weeks.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Animal studies have shown no evidence that ginkgo extracts have any effects on the unborn child.However, since there is no experience in humans, the benefits of treatment must be carefully weighed against the possible risks during pregnancy.It is not known whether ingredients in the extract pass into breast milk.

Notes

Tebonin® special 80 mg contains lactose.The product is available in different pack sizes at your mail order pharmacy.

Other

Sad moods or frequent dizziness and ringing in the ears generally require clarification by a doctor.Before treatment with ginkgo extract is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.The individual response to medication cannot be predicted.If the memory problems, concentration problems or headaches persist for longer than 3 months despite using the medication as directed, a doctor should be consulted, as these may be illnesses that require medical clarification.If hearing impairment or hearing loss suddenly occurs, you should consult a doctor immediately. If skin reactions occur or if you have persistent headaches or gastrointestinal complaints, you should consult a doctor so that he or she can clarify whether there is a connection with the use of ginkgo extract or whether the symptoms are due to another cause.

Application

In dementia syndrome, it is recommended to take 1 film-coated tablet 2-3 times a day.For peripheral arterial disease, vertigo and to support tinnitus, the recommended dosage is 1 film-coated tablet twice daily.The duration of the intake can be found on the package insert.

Active ingredient: 1 film-coated tablet contains 80 mg of quantified, refined dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).The extract is quantified to contain 17.6-21.6 mg flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 2.24-2.72 mg ginkgolides A, B and C, 2.08-2.56 mg bilobalide, and contains less than 0.4 µg ginkgolic acids per film-coated tablet.
