Area of application

These eye drops contain the active ingredient ketotifen fumarate, which acts as an anti-allergic agent.The medicine is used to treat seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.Typical symptoms include itchy, watery, red or swollen eyes and/or eyelids.

The eye drops contain 0.138 mg ketotifen fumarate, which is equivalent to 0.1 mg ketotifen.Glycerol, sodium hydroxide solution 4% and water for injection purposes are included as excipients.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to ketotifen fumarate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or exactly as discussed with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose for adults, the elderly and children (3 years and older) is one drop in each affected eye (or eyes) twice daily (morning and evening).The contents of a single-dose container are sufficient to administer one drop in each eye.

If you use more than you should, there is no danger if you accidentally take it by mouth or if more than one drop is accidentally put in your eye.If in doubt, ask your doctor for advice.

If you forget to use the drops, do so as soon as possible.Then stick to your regular dosing schedule again.Do not use a double dose if you forget the previous dose.

Application

Wash your hands.Open the single-dose container and be careful not to touch the tip of the container after opening.Tilt your head back and pull your lower eyelid down with your finger.Take the single-dose container in your other hand and gently press the container to allow a drop to fall into the eye.Close your eyes and press your fingertip against the inner corner of your eye for 1-2 minutes to prevent the drop from draining down the tear duct into your throat.Repeat the steps for the other eye if necessary.Discard the single-dose container after use.

Patient information

The eye drops may cause blurred vision, drowsiness or dizziness.If you have blurred vision or feel sleepy after using the eye drops, you should wait until these symptoms disappear before driving or using machines.

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The medicine is allowed to be used during breastfeeding.
