Dosage

The recommended dosage of nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit is at least 3 months in total.A total of 1 piece should be chewed per hour, but a maximum of 16 pieces per day, with 8 to 12 pieces being a guideline.4 to 6 weeks after starting treatment, the number of chewing gums per day should be gradually reduced by chewing the gums at intervals greater than 1 hour.The first attempt to stop chewing gum should be made when the average daily consumption over the last week has been 1 - 2 pieces.

Intake

1 Piece of nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit is chewed for about 30 minutes with breaks to release the nicotine from the chewing mass.It is important to chew the gum slowly.You should avoid chewing the gum quickly and/or intensively so that the nicotine is not released from the gum too quickly.To do this, the chewing gum should be chewed until the taste noticeably intensifies.Then it is important to push the gum into the cheek pocket until the taste subsides.You can then start chewing again.To increase the chances of success, it is important to avoid underdosing.A sufficient amount of nicorette® chewing gum should therefore be chewed every day.

Please speak to your doctor in advance if you suffer from any of the following illnesses.You may be able to use nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit, but you must first consult your doctor if you have recently suffered a heart attack or stroke, have chest pain, have a heart disease that affects the speed of your heartbeat or your heart rhythm, have high blood pressure that is not adequately controlled by medicines, have severe or moderate liver disease, have severe kidney disease, have diabetes, have an overactive thyroid,have a tumor of the adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma), have a stomach or duodenal ulcer or suffer from inflammation of the esophagus (esophagitis).

Denture wearers may have difficulty chewing due to the adhesive properties of nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit;In some cases it is therefore not possible for you to use nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit.In these cases, you can use other nicorette® dosage forms if necessary. Dental seals or inlays that are not properly secured can loosen further when chewing nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit.

Doses of nicotine tolerated by adult and adolescent smokers can cause severe symptoms of intoxication in children, which can be fatal.Therefore, nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit must be kept out of the reach of children at all times.

Nicotine chewing gum must not be used in children under 12 years of age.Only use nicotine chewing gum in young people (from 12 years of age and under 18 years of age) with a doctor's recommendation, as experience with the use of nicotine chewing gum in people under 18 years of age is limited.

Tell your doctor or pharmacy if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take other medicines.When you stop smoking, the body's changes can increase the effects of insulin.Your doctor may want to reduce your insulin dose.The effectiveness of the following drugs may also be increased: theophylline for the treatment of asthma, tacrine for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, clozapine for the treatment of schizophrenia, ropinirole for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

Pregnancy

The use of nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit should be avoided during breastfeeding, as nicotine passes into breast milk and can affect your child.If your doctor has recommended the use of nicorette® chewing gum 2 mg freshfruit, you should use the chewing gum immediately after breastfeeding and not in the last two hours before breastfeeding.

Smoking can have adverse effects on female and male fertility (fertility).It is not known what specific contribution nicotine has to these effects.However, women who want to have children should, if possible, neither smoke nor take nicotine replacement therapy.

Other

Nicotine chewing gum supports smoking cessation for smokers who want to quit smoking.Additional advice and supportive measures can increase the success rate.The taste of nicotine chewing gum may be perceived as disturbing at the beginning of treatment.However, this should not stop the patient from continuing to take nicotine chewing gum, as they almost always get used to the taste after a few days.
