Application

Nicotin Beta Mint chewing gums are preferably used in combination with a smoking cessation program.Advice and support can increase the chances of success.The chewing gum should be used when cigarettes would normally have been smoked or when a desire to smoke arises.At the start of treatment, 1 chewing gum can be used every 1 to 2 hours.The dosage is individual and depends on the nicotine addiction.In most cases, 8 to 12 pieces of chewing gum per day are sufficient.

Duration of treatment

The treatment time depends on the individual and should normally last at least 3 months.The nicotine dose is then gradually reduced.Treatment should be stopped when the dose has been reduced to 1 to 2 chewing gums per day.Regular use of Nicotin Beta Mint chewing gums for more than 6 months is usually not recommended.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Contraindications

Dosage

The strength of the gum should be chosen based on your nicotine dependence.If you smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day or if you have previously had no success with Nicotin Beta Mint 2 mg, 4 mg should be chosen.In other cases, 2 mg should be used.The maximum daily dose for Nicotin Beta Mint 2 mg is 24 chewing gums (48 mg nicotine) and for Nicotin Beta Mint 4 mg 16 chewing gums (64 mg nicotine).

Intake

Proper chewing technique is important.Chew Nicotin Beta Mint slowly, with breaks, otherwise you risk getting heartburn and hiccups.Chew until the taste becomes strong or there is a slight burning sensation, then stop chewing.Let the gum rest between your cheek and gums until the taste and burning sensation stops.Then continue chewing slowly until the taste becomes strong again or you feel a slight burning sensation.Repeat the chewing process for about 30 minutes.The nicotine effects only appear after a few minutes.The same quick relief as smoking cannot therefore be expected.

Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if any of the following apply to you: you have recently had a heart attack or stroke, chest pain, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, epilepsy, overactive thyroid, adrenal gland tumor, stomach or duodenal ulcer, inflammation of the esophagus.However, the risk of continued smoking always poses a greater danger than using this medicine.The chewing gum can get stuck in dentures and dental bridges and in some cases damage them.

Children and young people

The correct dose for adults can cause serious poisoning or death in children.It is therefore important that you always handle and store the medicine so that it is not visible or accessible to children.Adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age should only use this medicine if prescribed by a healthcare professional.The product must not be used by children under 12 years of age.

Ability to drive and use machines

No effects on the ability to drive a car or use machines were noted.

Pregnancy
