The Nicorette® TX patch is a discreet and effective solution to support smoking cessation.It helps reduce the desire to smoke throughout the day and relieves typical withdrawal symptoms such as restlessness or irritability.The patch is particularly thin and semi-transparent, which means it adapts discreetly to the skin tone and is hardly noticeable even in visible areas.

Active ingredients and ingredients

A transdermal patch from Nicorette® TX patch with 15 mg nicotine contains the following active ingredients and ingredients:

Active ingredient: 23.6 mg nicotine (1.75 mg/cm²).Average drug release: 15 mg/16 hours.

Other ingredients: Medium chain triglycerides, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer (Ph.Eur.), poly[acrylsäure-co-butylacrylat-co-(2-ethylhexyl)acrylat-co-vinyl-acetat] (5:15:75:5), potassium hydroxide, croscarmellose sodium, aluminum tris (acetylacetonate), poly (ethylene terephthalate) film.

Area of application

The Nicorette® TX patch is suitable for treating tobacco addiction by alleviating withdrawal symptoms and supporting smoking cessation.It is particularly suitable for people who have smoked fewer than 20 cigarettes per day.The patch releases nicotine evenly into the blood, maintaining nicotine levels for 16 hours.

Contraindications

The Nicorette® TX patch must not be used if you are a non-smoker, smoke occasionally and smoke one cigarette per day or less often, or if you are allergic to nicotine.

Dosage and application

The recommended dosage is one patch per day.The patch is applied to a clean, dry, hairless and undamaged area of skin on the upper body, upper arm or hip immediately after getting up in the morning.The position should be changed from day to day.The patch can easily be worn when showering or exercising, but should be removed before visiting the sauna or swimming pool.

The maximum level of nicotine in the blood is reached in the afternoon, when the risk of a relapse is greatest.The patch is removed in the evening before going to bed to avoid nicotine intake while you sleep.The next morning, apply a fresh patch to another area of skin.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine if you have suffered a serious cardiovascular event within the last 4 weeks or have been hospitalized for cardiovascular problems.Caution is also required if you suffer from moderate to severe liver damage, severe kidney failure, acute duodenal and stomach ulcers, diabetes, inadequately treated hyperthyroidism or a tumor of the adrenal medulla.

Nicotine is a highly toxic substance.Even in a dosage that is tolerated by adult smokers, nicotine can cause severe symptoms of poisoning in small children.Therefore, the medicine must be kept out of the reach of children at all times.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicines.Pregnant smokers should quit smoking without the help of nicotine-containing medicines.The use of the preparation should therefore be avoided during breastfeeding.

For up to 20 cigarettes per day: Weeks 1-8 1x Nicorette® TX patch 15 mg daily, weeks 9-12 1x Nicorette® TX patch 10 mg daily.

The patches are only suitable for smoking cessation and immediate smoking cessation, as smoking is not permitted during use.
