nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hour patch supports quitting cigarettes and other tobacco products.It reduces the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine addiction and makes it easier to quit the addiction.The patch is well tolerated and is gradually reduced over a period of 9 to 12 weeks to significantly reduce physical withdrawal symptoms.

The 24-hour patch guarantees a consistent release of active ingredients, which reduces deficiency symptoms and the craving for the addictive drug.The constant availability of the addictive substance over 24 hours reduces the craving for the first cigarette in the morning.

nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hour patch contains the active ingredient nicotine.A transdermal patch contains 35 mg of nicotine, with the average release of active ingredient on the skin being 14 mg/24 hours.The other ingredients are acrylate/vinyl acetate/methacrylate copolymer, medium-chain triglycerides, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer (Ph. Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hour plaster: Simply and conveniently stick on a plaster once a day.nikofrenon® releases nicotine evenly throughout the day, without an unpleasant taste.The duration of use depends on the progress of the treatment and should last a total of 9 to 12 weeks.The dosage should only be reduced after one week of continuous use at the earliest.

When you start treatment with nikofrenon® you must stop smoking completely.The nicotine-containing patches are available in three strengths: nikofrenon® 7 mg/24 hours, nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hours and nikofrenon® 21 mg/24 hours.The starting dose depends on your previous smoking habits.For optimal treatment, please adhere to the following dosage regimen:

Starting phase 3 - 4 weeks Continuation phase 3 - 4 weeks Ending phase 3 - 4 weeks

More than 20 cigarettes per day: nikofrenon® 21 mg/24 hours, nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hours, nikofrenon® 7 mg/24 hours

Up to and including 20 cigarettes per day: nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hours, nikofrenon® 14 mg/24 hours, nikofrenon® 7 mg/24 hours

Intake

For transdermal use (for sticking to the skin).Apply the transdermal patch to a healthy, hairless, dry and clean area of skin, preferably on the upper arm.Other parts of the body to attach include the shoulder area or upper hip.The transdermal patch should be pressed with the palm of your hand for 10 to 20 seconds.

Under no circumstances should the same skin area be used to apply the transdermal patch on consecutive days.After applying the transdermal patch, hands should be washed thoroughly to avoid eye irritation caused by nicotine transfer from the hands to the eyes.Once removed, used plasters should be disposed of carefully and kept out of the reach and sight of children.

The preparation is not waterproof, but can be left on the skin with careful showering.Even in the solarium it is not necessary to remove the transdermal patch.To protect the transdermal patch from moisture, it can be covered with a regular drug-free patch.Alternatively, it is possible to remove a transdermal patch a maximum of 1 to 2 times without affecting its adhesive properties.

Under no circumstances should the patch be left on the skin while visiting the sauna or diving.In these cases, uncontrolled release of nicotine cannot be ruled out.If the adhesive effect of the transdermal patch has been impaired, it can be fixed with a conventional wound plaster that is free of active ingredients.

After removing the transdermal patch from the skin, hold it together in the middle with the adhesive layer facing inwards so that the two halves stick together.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product if you have stable narrowing of the coronary arteries (angina pectoris), older heart attacks, cerebral vascular diseases, circulatory disorders in the arms or legs, severely increased blood pressure, heart muscle weakness, kidney and liver disorders, hyperthyroidism, epilepsy, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis, pseudomyasthenic syndrome), diabetes mellitus,Inflammation of the gastric mucosa and acute stomach and intestinal ulcers.

Children must not be treated with this preparation.There is no experience with the use of this preparation in patients under 18 years of age.There is only limited experience with the use of this drug in smokers over 65 years of age, but its effectiveness and tolerability in this age group appear to be unproblematic.

There is no evidence of risks in road traffic or when operating machines as long as the recommended dosage is adhered to.However, keep in mind that quitting smoking can cause behavioral changes.

Pregnancy

Smoking can cause serious harm to the fetus and infant and should be stopped.Pregnant smokers are recommended to quit smoking without the support of medicines containing nicotine.The use of this preparation should only be considered after consulting your doctor if there is a risk of continuing to smoke.

Nicotine passes into breast milk.When using the drug in therapeutic doses, nicotine levels in breast milk can be achieved, which have an effect on the child.If nicotine substitution with the preparation is necessary during breastfeeding, the infant should be switched to formula feeding.

Smoking can have adverse effects on female and male fertility (fertility).It is not known what specific contribution nicotine has to these effects.However, if possible, women who want to have children should neither smoke nor take nicotine replacement therapy.
