Nicotin Beta Fruitmint 2 mg active chewing gum contains 2 mg of nicotine in the form of nicotine resinate.The other ingredients are chewing gum base (contains butylated hydroxytoluene, xylitol, silicon dioxide hydrate, magnesium stearate, sodium carbonate, hypromellose, cooling flavor, mint flavor, sodium bicarbonate, citrus fruit flavor, levomenthol, macrogol 6000, glycerol, titanium dioxide, talc, acesulfame potassium, sucralose and xanthan gum).

Nicotin Beta Fruitmint 4 mg medicated chewing gum contains 4 mg of nicotine in the form of nicotine resinate.The other ingredients are chewing gum base (contains butylated hydroxytoluene, xylitol, silicon dioxide hydrate, magnesium stearate, sodium carbonate, hypromellose, flavor with cooling effect, mint flavor, sodium bicarbonate, citrus fruit flavor, levomenthol, macrogol 6000, glycerol, titanium dioxide, talc, acesulfame potassium, sucralose,Iron(III) hydroxide oxide x H2O and xanthan gum).

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.

Dosage

The strength of the gum should be chosen based on your nicotine dependence.If you smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day or if you have previously had no success with Nicotin Beta Fruitmint 2 mg, 4 mg should be chosen.In other cases, 2 mg should be used.

Nicotin Beta Fruitmint chewing gum should be used if you would normally have smoked cigarettes or if you feel the need to smoke.At the start of treatment, 1 chewing gum can be used every 1 to 2 hours.A sufficient amount of chewing gum should be chewed every day.The dosage is individual and depends on your nicotine dependence.In most cases, 8 to 12 pieces of chewing gum per day are sufficient.

Maximum daily dose: Nicotin Beta Fruitmint 2 mg medicated chewing gum: 24 chewing gums per day, corresponding to 48 mg nicotine/day.Nicotin Beta Fruitmint 4 mg medicated chewing gum: 16 chewing gums per day, corresponding to 64 mg nicotine/day.

The treatment time depends on the person.Normally the treatment should last at least 3 months.The nicotine dose is then gradually reduced.Treatment should be stopped when the dose has been reduced to 1 to 2 chewing gums per day.

Regular use of Nicotin Beta Fruitmint chewing gums for more than 6 months is usually not recommended.In some cases, longer treatment periods may be necessary to avoid a relapse to smoking.Any remaining gum should be saved as the urge to smoke may occur suddenly.Advice and support can improve the chances of success.

Chewing technique

Proper chewing technique is important.Chew Nicotin Beta Fruitmint slowly, with breaks, otherwise you risk getting heartburn and hiccups:

Chew until the taste becomes strong or there is a slight burning sensation, then stop chewing.Let the gum rest between your cheek and gums until the taste and burning sensation stops.Then continue chewing slowly until the taste becomes strong again or you feel a slight burning sensation.Repeat the chewing process for about 30 minutes.

The nicotine effects only appear after a few minutes.The same quick relief as smoking cannot therefore be expected.

However, the risk of continued smoking always poses a greater danger than using this medicine.

The chewing gum can get stuck in dentures and dental bridges and in some cases damage them.

The correct dose for adults can cause serious poisoning or death in children.It is therefore important that you always handle and store the medicine so that it is not visible or accessible to children.Adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age should only use this medicine if prescribed by a healthcare professional.The product must not be used by children under 12 years of age.

No effects on the ability to drive a car or use machines were noted.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
