Directions for use of the medicinal product Pancreatin Micro-ratiopharm 20000 Pankreatin Mikro-ratiopharm 20000 contains the active substance pancreatic powder from pigs (pancreatin). It is used to treat digestive disorders caused by a reduced or absent function of the pancreas. These digestive disorders can manifest as abdominal pain, flatulence, fatty stools, diarrhoea, frequent bowel movements or weight loss. The medicine is available without a prescription. However, it should be taken according to the instructions for best results. The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules with main meals, depending on the fat content of the food. The capsules should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. If necessary, the doctor can increase the dosage. There are some contraindications to the use of Pancreatin Micro-ratiopharm 20000, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, acute inflammation of the pancreas and cystic fibrosis. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Side effects may include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, bloating and flatulence.
