Instructions for use for Magnesium Verla N Dragées, 10x100 pcs
Magnesium Verla® N Dragées
Magnesium Verla® N dragées are used to treat magnesium deficiency. This product is available without a prescription. The dragées can be dosed individually thanks to their low dosage and are enteric-coated, which makes them excellently tolerated by the stomach. They are easy to swallow and have a pleasant vanilla flavor. They are also gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan.
For over 65 years, Magnesium Verla® N dragées have been used as medicines with the highest quality standards in the treatment of magnesium deficiency conditions.Magnesium is best absorbed by the body when taken in small amounts throughout the day.The low dosage of the dragées allows the intake to be adjusted individually at different times of the day.The enteric-coated dragées are well tolerated and contain only organic magnesium compounds for optimal absorption and bioavailability in the body.
The human body cannot produce magnesium itself.A sufficient daily intake with food is therefore essential, as magnesium is required for around 80% of all metabolic processes.Every energy-dependent process in the body, such as muscle movements, the activity of internal organs or nerve functions, is dependent on magnesium.
Symptoms of magnesium deficiency
Due to the diverse functions of magnesium, deficiency symptoms can manifest themselves in a wide range of symptoms, including:
Muscle cramps, especially in the calves, toes or soles of the feet, tension in the neck, shoulder and back area, restless leg syndrome, eyelid and muscle twitching, sensory disorders such as numbness or tingling, general weakness and fatigue, headaches or migraines, cardiac arrhythmias, racing heart and feeling of pressure, high blood pressure, a tendency to diabetes mellitus, nervousness, inner restlessness and sleep disorders, depressive mood and feelings of anxiety, increasedSusceptibility to stress, irritable bowel symptoms and menstrual problems.
Causes of magnesium deficiency
Magnesium balance depends on four factors: intake, requirement, loss and rate of absorption from the intestine.A deficiency occurs when not enough magnesium is supplied, there is an increased need, the body excretes too much magnesium due to illness or stress, or the absorption of the mineral into the body is disturbed.
Feed
Foods rich in magnesium are primarily natural products such as nuts, seeds, whole grain products, brown rice and millet.Cocoa and chocolate also contain a lot of magnesium. However, foods rich in magnesium can be very fatty, which is why caution is advised with certain foods.A diet high in fat and phosphates, such as fast food, is unfavorable.Vegetables, fruits and salads are healthy but low in magnesium.Even with a healthy diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, magnesium can be in “shortage” because valuable magnesium is lost through industrial processing and preparation of food.Although whole grain products are rich in magnesium, they also contain a lot of phytic acid, which reduces the absorption of the mineral.
Need
A healthy adult should consume 300 to 350 mg of magnesium daily through food. However, there are situations in which the body needs more magnesium, such as during physically or mentally demanding work, sweaty sports, prolonged stress, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.Children have a higher magnesium requirement in relation to their body weight, especially when they are growing.
Loss
In some diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, the body loses more magnesium through the urine.Dehydration tablets, alcohol and sodas can also lead to magnesium losses.
Recording
Sometimes the body does not absorb enough magnesium, even though enough is consumed.Absorption can be impaired by diarrhea, chronic intestinal diseases such as Crohn's disease, or impaired intestinal functions in diabetics and older people. Some medications, such as laxatives, certain antibiotics, or proton pump inhibitors, can also interfere with magnesium absorption. There are also hereditary predispositions that affect the absorption of magnesium in the digestive tract.
Area of application
Magnesium Verla® N Dragées are used to treat magnesium deficiency states that require therapy and do not require an injection or infusion, as well as proven magnesium deficiency if this is the cause of disorders of muscle activity, such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.
